Course Description

In this course, Heaven Holdbrooks, PNP, CNS, RNC-NIC, will compare the modified Finnegan Assessment Scale (FNASS) to the Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC) Assessment Scale; summarize emerging research on the ESC method for neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) infants; list consoling support interventions; and discuss implementation strategies for ESC. Originally presented as a live webinar on 29 April 2021.

Heaven Holdbrooks is a clinical nurse specialist working in a level III NICU in southern California and is board certified as a neonatal nurse. She obtained her BSN at the University of California Irvine and her MSN at the University of California Los Angeles with a dual degree in clinical nurse specialist and pediatric nurse practitioner. She has worked in the NICU for the past 10 years and is well versed in quality improvement initiatives. She is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and their families.
