Course Description

In this course, Dan Nemet, MD, MHA, will discuss the prevalence and definition of obesity in children and its impact on short- and long-term health outcomes; discuss the risk for micronutrient deficiencies associated with pediatric obesity; describe the pathophysiology and key factors that lead to childhood obesity; and describe the goals and objectives of the prevention and intervention for the child with obesity.

Dan Nemet, MD, MHA, is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel, where he also serves as Associate Dean. Dr Nemet is the Co-founder and Director of the Child Health and Sports Center at the Meir Medical Center, a multidisciplinary center focused on research and clinical aspects of the interaction between child development, nutrition, growth, and physical activity.
