Course Description

In this course, Cassandra Pogatschnik, RD, LD, CNSC, CCTD, will state the micronutrient deficiencies in nutrition support patients; identify the physical manifestation of micronutrient deficiencies through the nutrition-focused physical examination; discuss how abnormal micronutrient levels affect the processes of ingestion, absorption, and metabolism; and more. This program was originally presented live on 13 November 2024.

  • Identify the physical manifestation of micronutrient deficiencies through the nutrition-focused physical examination.

Cassandra Pogatschnik, RD, LD, CNSC, CCTD, is a Nutrition Support Clinician for the Center for Gut Rehabilitation and Transplantation at the Cleveland Clinic, specializing in adult intestinal rehabilitation and transplantation. She is a former pediatric gastroenterology dietitian focusing on pediatric GI transplantation and short bowel syndrome at M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital. A 2024 recipient of the Distinguished Nutrition Support Dietitian, Advanced Clinical Practice, ASPEN, she has authored various book chapters and articles on micronutrients, intestinal transplantation, short bowel syndrome, and intestinal failure, and enjoys teaching others about these topics.
