In this course, Annette Haban Bartz, MS, RD, LD, CLC, will list 3 possible nutrients which have been reported to decrease subclinical depression or anxiety during pregnancy; name 2 possible dietary changes that may affect mood during pregnancy; and identify the main difference between food sources for alpha-linolenic acid and docosahexaenoic acid.

Annette Haban Bartz is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian in Ohio as well as a Certified Lactation Counselor. Her 40 years as a Dietitian have provided her with a variety of experiences, including over 37 years in the perinatal and pediatric realm, often working with an interdisciplinary team. Her roles have included direct in-patient and out-patient care to antepartum, postpartum, neonatal, and pediatric patients including those persons with developmental disabilities. Along with patient care, a large part of Annette’s professional life has been to educate professionals, providing over 300 professional and student presentations, as well as over 100 presentations to families. Annette’s unique mixture of social science and nutrition science training and experiences (BS in Human Relations and Child Development, and MS in Human Nutrition, both from The Ohio State University) have helped to develop her approach to working with the whole client/patient which she shares with us. Annette recently retired from Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
