In module 3 of this 4-part series, Katie Robinson, PhD, MPH, RD, LD, CNSC, will discuss the most recent, evidence-based dietary intake and behavior recommendations for early and late phase bariatric postoperative periods; describe the role of protein in patients’ post-bariatric surgery; and utilize the nutrition-focused physical exam to identify macro and micronutrient deficiencies for patients' post-bariatric surgery.

Katie Robinson, PhD, MPH, RD, LD, CNSC, serves as a Medical Science Liaison within Scientific and Medical Affairs at Abbott Nutrition. Before joining Abbott, she conducted research on the impact of nutrition and genetics on outcomes of behavioral and surgical weight loss interventions. Dr Robinson completed her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics at Iowa State University and her dietetic internship at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She earned her Master of Public Health and PhD in Nutritional Sciences at UIUC. During her time at UIUC, she taught multiple undergraduate and graduate courses and assisted with coordinating the undergraduate didactic program in dietetics. She also completed postdoctoral training at the University of Iowa within the College of Nursing and College of Internal Medicine. Dr Robinson has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented her research at national and international conferences.
