Abstract:

Without intervention, older adults with obesity are at increased risk for many other health conditions. Nutrition is a part of lifestyle interventions that are a mainstay of effective obesity care, but Medicare coverage can be limited. This American Society for Aging blog describes how the bipartisan Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA) can help ensure Medicare beneficiaries have access to the quality and equitable obesity care they need.
