Improving Clinical Outcomes by Supporting Muscle: Why It Matters for Your Patients
Many patients are at risk for muscle loss, especially those with advancing age and those with acute and chronic conditions. This muscle loss can negatively impact outcomes including functionality, quality of life, recovery and mortality. Three experts in muscle biochemistry, cachexia and body composition analysis discuss the importance of maintaining muscle mass, from metabolic considerations and accurately measuring lean mass, to implementation of effective lifestyle and nutritional strategies to maintain muscle mass and improve outcomes.
