The Management of Cow’s Milk Allergy
Dr Venter’s talk focuses on the clinical and dietary management of mild to moderate non-IgE mediated cow’s milk allergy. She reviews the recently published iMAP Guidelines (International Milk Allergy in Primary Care) to assist clinicians in clinical care pathways for strict exclusion of cow’s milk protein; breastfeeding, formula feeding, or mixed feeding; reintroduction of cow’s milk protein; and the use of the Milk Ladder to test for acquired tolerance of cow’s milk.
Important notice: Breastfeeding is best for babies and is recommended for as long as possible during infancy.
