In this course, the faculty will identify the four basic steps of malnutrition care quality improvement and how to advocate to hospital administration that improved malnutrition care promotes health equity; describe at least three strategies and two resources that can be used to integrate the Global Malnutrition Composite Score (GMCS) measure into your hospital’s electronic health record; and list at least two ways the GMCS can be used to help identify and address roadblocks to effective clinical malnutrition care and successful patient transitions to post-acute care. Jasmine Larson, MBA, is the Senior Director of Global Clinical Solutions at Abbott in the Medical Devices division. In her current role, she is advancing the use of technology, data science, and human factors engineering to drive operational excellence in the execution of clinical trials and evidence generation. Jasmine spent more than 10 years as a leader in healthcare quality measurement and healthcare payment reform, both as a measure developer advocating for the inclusion of measures in the Federal rule as well as on the care delivery side, where she directed the hospital’s participation in all quality reporting programs, including HIQRP, HOQRP, VBP, RRP, HACRP, MIPS and more. Jasmine earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, NJ, and her Master’s in Business Administration from Saint Thomas University in Saint Paul, MN. Jasmine lives with her husband, Craig, in Lakeville, MN, and is adjusting to her newly acquired empty nester status.

Kristi Mitchell, MPH is currently the Founder and Principal at ATLAS CLARITY, LLC, an advisory services firm dedicated to improving the health and well-being of populations through patient engagement, strategic partnerships, and innovative data collection, and CEO of Health Equity Outcomes, a non-profit focused on empowering underserved and underrepresented populations to advance health equity.
She most recently stepped down in her role as Practice Director of the Center for Healthcare Transformation at Avalere Health LLC, leading efforts involving the use of clinical data for strategic decision-making across multiple industries, including Life Sciences, health plans, and professional societies. To navigate the quality enterprise, she oversees the diffusion of best practices in performance measurement development, implementation, and evaluation across multiple industries. These projects include assessing the feasibility of developing new measure types (e.g., episode of care, composite, efficiency measures), translation of PRO into performance measures, and those metrics used to support innovative payment and delivery models. In addition, Ms. Mitchell leads efforts to implement quality improvement strategies to advance healthcare quality through shared decision-making, care coordination, and medication adherence. To support the innovative collection and use of observational data, Ms. Mitchell oversees strategic approaches to launch clinical registries and/or link extant data sources to enhance the value proposition of new products or services.
Currently, her work focuses on advancing health equity and reducing health disparities, particularly related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Mitchell is dedicated to elevating the role of community-based participatory research as a mechanism to derive community-centric real-world data.
The robust development, dissemination, and translation of valid, reliable evidence set the foundation for all of Kristi's work. She has published in the peer review literature that showcases the impact of well-designed, professionally driven clinical registries and the impact on provider behavior and, ultimately, patient outcomes. Ms. Mitchell has also served on a number of national stakeholder panels focused on the use of clinical registry data, including most notably AHRQ’s Registry of Patient Registries, the FDA MDEpiNet Interim Advisory Committee, the Pew Trust Future of Medical Device Registry Stakeholder Group, the National Medical Device Registry Task Force and currently sits on the MDEpiNet Executive Operations Committee. Ms. Mitchell also holds a three-year appointment with the NQF CV Measures Standing Committee. Currently, she serves as chair of the National Kidney Foundation CKD Net Registry Data Use and Publication Committee.
Prior to her work at Avalere, Ms. Mitchell worked at the American College of Cardiology for 12 years, most recently as the Chief Science Officer. In her role as Senior Director of research and Development, Mrs. Mitchell provided scientific and technical oversight to the development of the suite of NCDR Registry and Quality Improvement Program. Ms. Mitchell offered strategic and technical direction over NCDR cardiovascular outcomes research and evaluation activities. In addition, she led the integration of clinical practice guideline development, performance measurement, dataset development, and educational activities within the College.
Kristi earned an A.B. in Human Biology and Public Policy from Brown University and her MPH in Public Health Policy Administration and Epidemiology from the University of Michigan.

Margaret Dittloff, MS RD, is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Product Manager with over 20 years of experience in software development for the healthcare industry. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and a Bachelor of Science in Food Service Management from Iowa State University.
Prior to joining Junum in 2019, Margaret was the Research Project Manager at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, where she managed the Academy’s Health Informatics Outcomes data registry and applications, which were among the first apps to demonstrate integrations using HL7 FHIR at HIMSS 2018 Interoperability Showcase. She also worked as the Director of Product Management for CBORD’s nutrition/diet office management solutions and held numerous management positions in contract foodservice operations, from college and university dining to community nutrition programs for seniors.

Donna Belcher is the Assistant Director of clinical nutrition at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children in Boston, Massachusetts. She manages approximately 30 nutrition professionals, primarily inpatient dietitians with some additional outpatient clinic coverage and two nurse practitioners. Donna is a registered dietitian who has worked in various locations and settings for over 20 years, always keeping east of the Mississippi River. She holds board certifications as a CDCES and CNSC and is a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Currently, Donna is chair-elect for the CNM Dietetic Practice group and was previously the QPI sub-unit chair. She has participated in, coached, and been faculty for Mass General Brigham’s Continuous Process Improvement Leadership Program. Donna completed her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Vermont and holds a Master of Science degree in Nutrition & Public Health from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She completed her dietetic internship at Tulane University, School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Health Care Administration from Grand Canyon University.
