Nutrition Essentials: Empowering Physicians for Enhanced Patient Care

Nutrition is a cornerstone of preventing and managing chronic diseases physicians treat every day.  Despite nutrition's critical role in health, many physicians report limited formal nutrition training.

This FREE series includes 10 case-based modules, each about 20 minutes long, and strengthens physicians’ understanding of the role evidence-based nutrition can play in clinical practice. Once you have completed the program, you will be able to:

  • Explain why nutrition is an important part of patient care for physicians.
  • Review pediatric nutrition essentials through clinical case discussions that include human milk and breastfeeding, Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy, Pediatric Malnutrition (under- and overnutrition), and hydration.
  • Recognize and describe adult malnutrition and key nutrition considerations across care settings, explain the role of nutrition in diabetes management, wound healing, cancer treatment, and obesity with nutrient risk (including during GLP 1 therapy).

Note: This series is not eligible for healthcare professional continuing education credit.  A certificate of completion is provided after completion of each module, each track, and the entire program.
